My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fortay’s story is one of quiet bravery. She arrived with us with no known history, and it was clear right away that the shelter environment felt overwhelming for her. Everything was new, loud, and a little scary. When she went into foster care, her foster parent gave her exactly what she needed: patience, space, and gentle encouragement through treats and play.

Little by little, Fortay began to feel safe. She started to open up, showing her sweet and affectionate side, though she still needed time to fully adjust to her surroundings. Once she comes out of her shell, Fortay truly shines—she loves attention and especially enjoys chin scratches. Like many sensitive souls, she can become overstimulated with too much petting, but she’s easily redirected to a wand toy, which she happily pounces and plays with.

Because Fortay can be timid at first and may need extra time to settle into new environments, she would do best in a calm, adult-only home with someone who understands her need for patience and gentle guidance. In the right home, Fortay will reward that kindness with trust, affection, and playful moments that make her journey all the more special. 🐾
