Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Dutch! This guy is such a ham, just look at that dopey face! He's a big boy with a lot of love to spare, and is excited to find his forever home. Since he was brought in as a stray, we don't know all that much about his past. However, he's playful, happy-go-lucky, and eager to learn. He already knows 'sit' like a pro, and he's working on 'down'! Dutch has also been having a lot of fun running around in all this snow, so if you're a fan of the great outdoors, Dutch is more than happy to join you on your next excursion. We aren't sure how he does with kids or other animals, so if you've got a furry friend at home, we encourage you to bring them for a meet and greet! Dutch is just a one-of-a-kind type of dog that you have to meet in person to truly appreciate, so stop by our East location to meet him today!

Additional adoption info
We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!
Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.
When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.
What you will need in order to adopt:
A valid photo ID with your current address.
We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.
Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.
Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
