My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Monkey is a domestic shorthair torbie female who is approximately 11 years old. Monkey requires a home where she is the only cat.

Monkey is a gentle and sweet cat who can be shy when adjusting to new environments and needs some time to settle in. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes very affectionate and is always looking for companionship with her humans. She enjoys being near her people and will happily sit beside them for long periods, even after the attention has ended.

She does well with gentle handling and settles calmly once she feels safe. Monkey can be quite talkative during car rides or new outings, then becomes noticeably quieter and relaxed on the way home. When returning to a familiar space, she adjusts well, and often makes herself comfortable on the bed where she enjoys scratches and affection.

Monkey often greets her humans at the door when they come home, unless she has been woken from a nap, in which case she patiently waits for them to come to her. She enjoys playful interaction, including light playful swats that are friendly and social in nature. She especially loves chewy and crunchy treats and having both sides of her face rubbed at the same time.

Monkey is a very sweet, companion-oriented cat who would do best in a calm home that can be patient and give her the time she needs to settle in. In return, she promises lots of pets and open conversations with her future humans.

Monkey is spayed, fully vaccinated with RCCP and rabies, FIV and FeLV negative, microchipped, and on parasite prevention. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt, please submit an adoption application found in the drop down menu on our website.

Additional adoption info

Most of our cats live in foster homes. Some are available to meet at satellite locations such as Pet Valu and Ren's Depot. A few foster homes are available to meet and greets at their home, or we also do meet and greets at request at our shelter prior to adoption. Most of these results in same day adoptions, and only take place after an adoption interview.
