Hillary has been through more than her fair share lately, but she is officially on the road to healing and ready to start the next chapter of her life. She arrived in our care with a vaginal prolapse, and thanks to our medical team, she has been spayed and treated. As her hormones continue to settle, the prolapse will heal naturally.
Future adopters should be aware that Hillary will need a little extra patience during this healing period. She should be kept away from male dogs, intact or altered, for about three weeks while her backend fully heals. After that, it is business as usual.
Outside of her recent medical needs, Hillary is a happy, healthy, normal dog who truly enjoys being with her people. She shows signs of being potty trained, loves spending time outdoors, and takes her sniffing duties very seriously. If there is dirt to investigate, Hillary will find it.
She is a great low rider size, making her an excellent option for apartment living or for someone looking for an easygoing companion. She would be just as happy joining you on leisurely walks as she would exploring her own yard at her own pace.
Hillary is looking for a home that can give her a little grace while she finishes healing and a lot of love for the rest of her life. If you are ready to be that family, come meet her and let her charm you
Hillary is guesstimated to be 2 years old and weighs 36 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative.
Ready to meet Hillary? Just stop by our shelter and head to our dog areas. You can find her in kennel D24. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID.

If you are interested in adopting an animal: 1) Write down the Animal ID # . 2) Make sure to mention Animal ID # when visiting or calling. 3) Remember all adoptions stop 30 minutes prior to closing time. 3) You will not be allowed to place a hold on the animal. 4) It cannot be shipped to you. 5) Before adopting it, you can spend time with the animal outside or in a "meet and greet" room. Please ask for assistance. 6) We take cash, checks, debit cards, VISA and Mastercard as a method of payment. **IMPORTANT: Huntsville Animal Services cannot guarantee that any animal will still be available for adoption as we do not hold animals for anyone under any circumstances. Animals are adopted on a first come, first serve basis. You may want to call and ask if one is still available prior to visiting the shelter. When you adopt a pet, it will stay at the shelter and be taken to the veterinarian of your choice where it will be spayed or neutered before going to its new home. If it is already spayed or neutered, it can go home with you upon adoption. My adoption cost is very affordable and includes my adoption fee, spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, license (if you live within Huntsville city limits), and microchip.
ADOPTION FEES
