Their adoption process

Your fur-ever friend is waiting! At Harbor Humane, we follow a walk-in, first-come, first-served adoption process for individuals with a completed and approved adoption survey. We are unable to hold animals unless additional meet & greets are required, such as a dog-to-dog introduction or meeting with children.

Adoption fees include:
* Spay/Neuter surgery
* Up-to-date vaccinations
* Rabies vaccination (if old enough)
* Flea/tick prevention
* Microchip
* Puppies (younger than 5 months) receive six puppy socialization classes
* Dogs: Heartworm test (if old enough)
* Dogs: Heartworm prevention

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
  2. Submit Application
    Download and fill out our adoption survey. You can either email it to office@harborhumane.org or complete a survey in person at the shelter
  3. Approve Application
    Our team will review your submission. An adoption counselor will then go over your survey with you and discuss potential matches.
  4. Meet the Pet
    Once your survey is approved, you’ll have the chance to meet animals that are a good match for your lifestyle.
  5. Pay Fee
    See our dog, cat, and rabbit adoption fees and what's included at https://harborhumane.org/adopt/
  6. Take the Pet Home
    In many cases, the new love of your life will be ready to go home the same day (some animals may require a final vet check before leaving).
