My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💙 Meet Valor — Your Gentle, Soulful Shadow 💙

*If you’re interested in Valor, please note his adoption application is located at the very bottom of his bio. *

Valor is an absolute love bug with the sweetest, most intuitive soul.
He wants nothing more than to be by your side—cuddling, gazing up at you with those soulful eyes, and soaking in every bit of love you give.
The moment you pick him up, he melts into your arms, perfectly content just being held and reminded that he’s safe and cherished.

He has a calm, gentle temperament and a warmth that fills the room.
His foster describes him as laid-back and mellow, yet still playful and full of joy. Valor is incredibly intuitive—if his sister isn’t following a command and receives a correction, Valor will gently place his paw on her, mirroring the foster’s guidance as if reminding her to listen. It’s truly heart-melting to watch. ✨

Though soft and sweet he’s the perfect balance of gentle and strong—a puppy who wants to belong and give his whole heart to his person.

Valor sleeps peacefully in his crate and is already learning the ropes of house and potty training. He’s a fast learner, eager to please, and thrives on praise and affection.

🎓 Training Update

Valor is currently enrolled in early puppy training classes and had his first session on 2/3/26, with additional classes scheduled for 2/5, 2/6, 2/7, and 2/8.

During his first session, Valor worked on several foundational skills, including:
Look, Kennel, Wait, Sit, Down, Find It, Leave It, Come, Free, Touch, and polite manners around people (no jumping).
All commands were practiced using positive reinforcement, treats, and calm, gentle guidance.

He is currently learning and practicing:
• Kennel training
• Separation practice
• Impulse control
• Manners

Specific skills introduced:
• Find It: Valor responded very well and searched confidently for tossed treats.
• Touch: Lightly introduced by coming forward and gently touching the trainer’s palm with his nose; he is still learning this cue.
• Leave It: Used when focusing on something inappropriate, paired with a mild verbal interrupter and a hand signal.

✨ Overall, Valor showed clear progress for a very first training session. ✨

The Details:
• German Shepherd / Husky mix (best guess)
• First vaccine at 7 weeks (1/6/26)
• Currently 11 weeks old
• Second DHPP at 9 weeks (1/23/26)
• Rabies + remaining vaccines (DHLPP & Bordetella & Microchip) at 12 weeks (2/9/26)
• Will be neutered prior to adoption

Valor can move to a foster-to-adopt home at any time but cannot be officially adopted until he is fully vaccinated, neutered, and medically cleared.

✨ All he’s missing… is you. ✨
A safe place. A human to love with his whole heart. 🐾💙

Go meet their pets

We are based in Canyon Lake, Texas, with foster homes located throughout different parts of the state. Because we are a foster-based rescue, our dogs may be cared for in various locations and can be moved to certain areas to help them find the right forever homes.

More about this rescue

We are a foster-based dog rescue dedicated to giving a voice and a future to the dogs who are so often overlooked — street dogs, dumped dogs, neglected dogs, and those facing euthanasia in kill shelters. Every dog we take in is placed into a loving foster home, where they’re given the care, patience, and compassion they may have never known before.

Our mission is simple but deeply personal: to change lives, one dog at a time. We believe every dog deserves safety, love, and a forever home they can truly call family — especially those who may not have survived if left where they were. Through rescue, rehabilitation, advocacy, and education, we work tirelessly to give these dogs a second chance.

We advocate for the ones who can’t speak for themselves, even when others look away or believe it’s someone else’s problem to solve. For us, it’s not “someone else’s problem” — it’s our purpose. These dogs aren’t disposable, and they are never forgotten here.
