My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ Meet Jenny! ✨

Who's that beautiful girl with the luscious coat? It's Jenny - and yes, she knows she's gorgeous. 💁‍♀️

Jenny takes her glam routine seriously and is a big fan of gentle brushing sessions to keep her fur looking flawless. When she's not tending to her mane, you'll find her curled up in the coziest, warmest spot she can find, enjoying a well-earned nap.

That said, don't let her love of snoozing fool you - Jenny is always happy to pause her beauty rest for some affection. She's a total sweetheart who welcomes visitors with enthusiasm and happily trots over for pets, scratches, and love. FYI - she will absolutely let you know when she's had enough of your love and affection too - ha! #sass

Jenny does enjoy her snacks, but she's currently on a healthy weight-loss journey and is looking for a caring home that will support her diet and cheer her on along the way.

See our website at www.spca.bc.ca/PowellRiver for all of our current information.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
