My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MAPLE - Gentle, Loving, and Ready to Be Yours

Maple is a beautiful 9-year-old Lab mix with a gentle heart and a love for people 🤎 She came to us with her brother Max and has quickly become a staff favorite thanks to her sweet, affectionate nature. Maple adores attention and is happiest when she's soaking up pets and spending time with her people 🥰 While she can be selective with other dogs, she does best with a calm male dog or as the only dog in the home.

AGE: 9 years old

PERSONALITY: Very sweet, loving, calm, and people-oriented. Maple thrives on attention and enjoys being close to her humans.

GOOD WITH: People of all ages 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Select dogs (best with a male dog) 🐕

FOREVER HOME WISHLIST: Maple would love a quiet, loving home with someone who is home more often 🏡 Whether as an only dog or with a compatible male companion, she's looking for a peaceful place to relax and be cherished in her golden years 💛

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
