My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tarzan 🌿 — A Little Wild, A Lot of Love

Tarzan is a 4-month-old brown tabby with the cutest nub tail and a heart full of curiosity. This playful little guy is always ready to climb, explore, and turn everyday moments into tiny adventures—true to his jungle-inspired name. 🐾

Don’t let his adventurous spirit fool you though—Tarzan is also incredibly sweet and affectionate. After a good play session, he’s happy to settle in for cuddles, purrs, and quality time with his people. His expressive eyes, classic tabby markings, and that adorable nub tail make him completely irresistible.

Tarzan would do great in a home that appreciates a fun, energetic kitten who also knows how to slow down and enjoy the love. He’s at the perfect age to grow up alongside his forever family and become an amazing lifelong companion.

If you’re looking for a kitten with personality, charm, and just the right touch of wild—Tarzan is ready to swing into your heart. 💚🐱 Head on over to our website and fill out an application FORrescue.net

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable animals are fostered in loving homes throughout Huntsville, Alabama and the surrounding area. Because we do not operate a physical shelter, meet-and-greets are arranged by appointment only—typically after an adoption application has been submitted and approved.

For out-of-town adopters, we’re happy to offer virtual meet-and-greets to help you get to know your future furry family member before adoption or transport.

More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama with transport locations throughout the Great Lakes and New England. FOR is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2009.

Our mission is to save adoptable dogs and cats from overcrowded Southern shelters where limited space, minimal funding, and high intake rates often lead to euthanasia.

We are not professional trainers or animal behaviorists—just dedicated individuals working together to give these animals a second chance. Every pet in our program lives in a loving foster home and receives age-appropriate veterinary care while awaiting adoption.

Our ultimate goal is to match each animal with a committed, compassionate individual or family who will provide a FORever home.
