Take the Pet Home
This helps Loved At Last Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
Hi. I'm Monroe and I'm sweet senior with love to give. I need to find my new family. Could that be you?
UPDATE: I am a laid back Jindo gal who has been dearly loved by my humans for the past 5 years, living a lovely life on Vancouver Island. They now have to move to a new Island location where dogs are not allowed. They are really hoping that I can find my new humans to love me as much as they have. I continue to be a pleasant dog around other dogs and I've done just fine living with a cat. I am 8 years old, I weigh 37 lbs, and I'm about 20 in tall.
HISTORY: You would never know from my bright and happy nature that I come from a dog meat farm. That's right, I was rescued, along with 64 other dogs from a place where they raised and slaughtered dogs for human consumption. We lived in wire cages that were open to the elements and we stood on metal bars over rotting feces.
About Me - I am the sweetest dog who shows not an ounce of aggression and can be counted on to make other dogs feel happy and welcome. I'll approach a new dog carefully and ask for play. Even the rude or the timid ones seem to relax in my company. Playing with my canine friends is one of my absolute favourite things to do.
When it comes to people, I may be a tad shy at first, but it doesn't take long for me to lower my guard and allow touching. I might evade your hands if you reach over my head, but once I know and trust you I will be an affectionate dog who will bring you joy.
I have been introduced to cats a long time ago and I showed no aggression or chasing behaviour, just some trepidation around them. I've lived with a cat for the past 5 years and we've gotten along just fine.
Much as I enjoy my food, I'm not obessessive or protective about it, but I do tend to be impatient to wolf down my meals. It would be a good idea to teach me to sit and wait before letting me go to my food bowl.
I'd make a great family pet who would be fine around teens, dogs and cats, enjoys walks and playtime, but can also relax in the home. I'm not much of a barker and I choose to 'do my business' outside if given the opportunity.
There's really no reason not to adopt me. Don't you agree?
I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee of $650 + taxes

Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of the descriptions. Remember, every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person leading him and the environment. The age and breed of a dog is almost always an educated guess and at no time do we promise or guarantee the age or breed of a dog.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website.

As adopters of overseas dogs will be taking their dog home from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit.
