🐾 Meet Nakaii (aka “Kai Kai”) 🐾

A gentle heart looking for his forever home

Nakaii — lovingly called Kai Kai — is a sweet, soulful boy with the most perfect white heart on his chest, a fitting symbol of his gentle and loving nature. He has a calm, docile personality and an expressive face that absolutely lights up when he knows he’s done something right. That “good boy” look? It’ll melt you every time.

Kai Kai is currently thriving in his foster home, where he gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes. His best buddy is Odin (a Rottweiler), but he truly enjoys the company of every canine he’s met — including another foster dog, Duke, who keeps him company during the day. While he does fine on his own, Nakaii would love a home with another dog for companionship, as he’s used to having a furry friend nearby.

He is mostly house trained and finds comfort sleeping in his kennel at night — it’s his safe, cozy space right now. During the day, he does well spending 8–10 hours in a yard or large run, especially when he has a dog friend with him.

Nakaii is fantastic with kids and has done wonderfully with children ranging from 4 to 12 years old. He’s gentle, patient, and respectful, making him a great fit for families with dog-savvy kids. He has no special needs and requires no extra maintenance at this time.

He has also been exposed to a wide variety of animals — including three cats, 25 chickens, four horses, and multiple dogs. With cats, he shows curiosity and may chase if they run, but he responds well to redirection and has never shown aggression. With continued positive training, he’s expected to improve even more.

Nakaii rides great in the car and usually just curls up and sleeps, making him a wonderful travel companion. He enjoys walks and fetch, and while he’s still learning leash manners, he’s picking it up beautifully with patience and gentle encouragement.

Despite being an active boy who loves playtime, Nakaii also has a couch-potato side and adores relaxing and cuddling. He’s incredibly smart and eager to please — already knowing name recall, sit, shake/paw, fetch, and kennel. His favorite toys are anything squishy, and he loves deer antlers and organic pig ears.

Nakaii didn’t get the best start in life, but what he did get is a heart full of love and a deep desire to please. With patience, reassurance, and gentle guidance, this sweet boy has so much potential to grow, learn, and flourish.
