My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Baby Bundt 💕

Baby Bundt’s story is one of quiet bravery and gentle transformation. When she first arrived, she was understandably very scared and shy after enduring circumstances no animal should ever know. Everything was unfamiliar, and it took time for her to feel safe. But day by day, Baby Bundt has started to be brave—learning that the hands reaching out to her are only there to offer love, comfort, and kindness.

Once she realizes she’s getting gentle pets, her true personality shines. Baby Bundt will roll all over, soaking up the affection, being irresistibly cute, and giving as many head bumps as she possibly can. It’s her way of saying thank you and showing just how sweet and loving she truly is. With a little patience and encouragement in a new environment, she should quickly settle in and blossom into a super affectionate, gentle lady who adores her people.

Baby Bundt is one of 33 animals rescued by the Humane Society of Greater Dayton from one of the most severe neglect cases our team has encountered. Conditions were devastating—no running water, trash and animal waste piled throughout the home, overwhelming odors, and animals confined to small cages layered with their own waste. Some cats were unable to move freely due to the buildup of feces. Thanks to immediate medical treatment, clean spaces, soft bedding, and compassion, the change was almost instant. For many, including Baby Bundt, this was the first taste of comfort and safety in a very long time.

Now, Baby Bundt is ready for the next chapter of her life—a calm, loving home where she can continue to build confidence, feel secure, and share her sweetness every day. With patience, kindness, and love, she will reward her future family with endless head bumps, affection, and a heart full of gratitude. 💖

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
