My name is Butterbeer!

Butterbeer is a 4-month-old long-haired kitten who is, frankly, a terrible communicator—and we love her for it. When you approach, she may hiss with the authority of a lion addressing the savanna. Very intimidating. Very dramatic. Extremely misleading, because the moment you pick her up? Instant transformation.

Butterbeer melts into a purring puddle of joy, starts kneading like she’s making biscuits for a five-star bakery, and snuggles deep into your arms as if she’s been waiting all day for this exact hug. Spicy on the outside, pure mush on the inside.

She’s the kind of kitten who talks tough but secretly just wants reassurance, warmth, and love. Once she realizes you’re safe, she’s all cuddles, purrs, and affection—no roar required.

Butterbeer is looking for a patient, gentle human who understands that sometimes love comes wrapped in a little hiss. If you can see past her dramatic warnings, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal, snuggly, ridiculously sweet kitten who just hasn’t figured out how to say “I love you” yet. 

Butterbeer is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed , and litter box trained.

Butterbeer 's adoption fee is $165.  Please note A.R.F. does not approve applications for any kitten under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL.
