Meet our handsome bonded duo of male guinea pigs who came into rescue when their owner was no longer able to care for them. These two have been through a lot together, and their bond is the real deal, they must go home as a pair.
We love them so much. Truly. They are charming, expressive, and full of personality, but let’s be honest, guinea pigs are not a low maintenance pet. These boys go through hay like it is their full time job. Bedding, food, pee pads, fresh veggies, it adds up quickly. They are worth every bit of effort, but they are definitely not cheap to care for, which is exactly why we are looking for a home that understands what guinea pig ownership really looks like.
These guys are very skittish, so we are not recommending them for small children. They would do best with older kids or adults who can move slowly, respect boundaries, and understand prey animal behavior. Once they feel safe, they are delightful to observe and interact with on their terms.
They currently have a wonderful routine that is important to them, they come out every single day for at least an hour, often longer, for floor time and enrichment. That routine has helped them feel more secure, and we are hoping to find a home committed to keeping that consistency.
We knew this day would come, even if part of us hoped it would take a long time. If the right family comes along, one who understands the commitment, the cost, and the care, we truly believe these boys would thrive and be very loved.
