My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kevin and his brother, Clarence, were relinquished to us on August 26,2020. They then were adopted together on October 17, 2020 but returned to us on August 11, 2021 due to finding out one was diabetic. They are a bonded pair and we insisted that both be returned and glad we did as Kevin also tested positive for diabetes. Since then, these sweet brothers, now 10 years old, have resided here at FAS with us. They both are on insulin which they receive injections twice a day with blood sugar checks weekly through an ear prick.

We would love for these 2 boys to be in a home but we know the chances are slim considering they have special medical needs. They both require insulin injections twice daily, 12 hours apart and checking their blood sugar levels once a week. They also tend to pee on things (eeekkkkk) but maybe that is because they reside with so many other cats.

If you are interested in meeting this dynamic duo, are familiar with feline diabetes and are able to give simple insulin injections please contact us. Kevin & Clarence are available for either adoption or long term fostering. When you long term foster for FAS, we provide everything you need from food and litter to all medical care and medical supplies.

More about this rescue

Our mission

Our mission is to provide safe loving, rehabilitation and sanctuary to pets who become homeless due to abandonment, abuse, neglect or surrender, until they find their forever homes. To educate the community on spay/neuter/microchipping and the importance of understanding the emotional needs of animals.

How it all started

After 9/11 our troops were quickly deployed with many having to leave their pets behind. The significance of this is that Fallbrook is situated on the east side of U.S. Marine Corps. Camp Pendleton.

Janet LuCore, FAS Founder, saw the immediate need to have a safe place for these pets and took action; she opened her door and her heart and Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary was born.

Because of FAS, nearly 5,000 pets have been re-homed. Because of FAS, many pets have been re-united with their families. And because of FAS, any animals that come to Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary will ALWAYS have a loving home because of our No-Kill policy. Until the right family comes along, these pets will be loved and cared for by the compassionate volunteers and fosters.
