Note: Solo kittens will only be placed into homes with a cat already in the household OR will need to be adopted as a pair.
Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Candidate submits our application via https://www.delgatorescue.org/adoption-application. We will reply with next steps within 1-3 days.
- Home Check
- Virtual homecheck video to be sent via text to the phone number provided in our next steps email.
- Meet the Pet
- Meet & greet is setup directly with current foster, approved applicant comes for a meet & greet and brings a carrier to take the cat home.
- Take the Pet Home
- We offer and recommend a 2 week foster-to-adopt trial period to make sure it's a great fit for all parties prior to adoption paperwork.

More about this rescue
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer run cat rescue whose mission is to prevent shelter impounds. Los Angeles is filled with high kill municipal shelters, and the chances of any cat getting out alive are slim to none. Our volunteers work directly with the public to rescue abandoned, homeless, injured/sick community cats off the streets of Los Angeles, place them into foster homes, rehabilitate them & get them UTD on vetting, and finally place them into loving forever indoor homes.
