My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Peanut, and I’m a wild little nut. I’m a little over 2 months old and full of spunk and spring. I love food, toys, and wrestling with another kitty. My foster sister isn’t into wrestling, but my foster papa will play with me when he’s in the mood. I’d love to have my own forever brother or sister to play with—and cuddle with afterward. I love people and also enjoy playing with friendly doggies.

I’m great in the car and learning to wear a harness and leash, though I’ll be just as happy being an indoor kitty. I might be a little nutty, but I also know how to relax and take long naps. You’ll always know I’m nearby because I purr like a boiling kettle and meow like a rooster.

I was separated from my brother at the shelter, and I really want to have a sibling of my own—someone a bit older than me. I’m a firecracker when I play, but I respect my elders and understand the “paw of nope.”

Once cleared by our vet, he will be available for adoption in mid-February

We are located in Houston, TX. We do adopt out of state, provided the family can come meet Peanut and complete the adoption from his foster home. For safety and comfort, we do not ship our kittens.

Additional adoption info

Upon receipt of your application, a volunteer will contact you to conduct a phone interview. From there, if you have other animals, we will perform a veterinary reference check to confirm your current animals are current on all vaccinations. We will also contact at least two personal references before continuing with your application. Once those items are complete, we will contact you to schedule a time to meet with you in your home. All application information will be verified, and we screen prospective adopters thoroughly for approval.

Once approved, you will be notified by email and work closely with our volunteers.

It is important to us that both you and your new family member are happy. As a result, we do our best to understand your expectations for your new family member and match you with a dog that meets your expectations as closely as possible. We desire that none of our dogs ever find themselves “back in the system.” Therefore we place our animals only into pre-approved homes.

More about this rescue

Border Kitty Rescue Division was created under Border Collie Rescue & Rehab-501 (c)(3) to save orphaned kittens. Our mission is to save orphaned kittens, provide them with medical care, once stable, we provide basic training, enrichment and socialization. All our kittens will be raised by Border Collies, Aussies and/or fabulous mixes, so the kittens will be comfortable with dogs in general. Once you adopt from us, you will be part of our BCRRT family. We believe in a life time commitment and our volunteers will stay in touch with all adopters so that we can continue supporting and sharing updates. Kittens will be dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We save Texas kittens, but we do adopt out of state.
