Boomerang's favorite place to be is your lap. He's a sweet boy who can be a bit shy at first, preferring to watch and observe his surroundings before jumping in. Once he's comfortable and decides you're his person, however, he sticks to you like a tiny sidekick. It's amazing to see how trusting and affectionate he can become with a bit of time and pets! While you're gone, he can keep himself plenty occupied on his own with toys and bird-watching out the window, but even when he goes off on his own, Boomerang comes back to you to cozy up like a...well, boomerang!

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

All of our animals are in foster homes. To meet an animal please fill out our adoption application and we will get back to you to schedule a meet and greet if it seems it could be a good fit.

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
