My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there… I’m Bella

I’m a tiny little Chiweenie lady weighing about 10 pounds of pure cuddle talent. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who believes personal space is optional, we might just be soulmates.

My Personality
I’m what you’d call a professional companion. I don’t just like being near my person — I need to be where you are. Kitchen? I’m supervising. Couch? I’m snuggling. Bathroom? Moral support is important.

I used to have a best friend named Roscoe, and I miss him very much. Because I’m used to having a buddy, I’d really love a home where someone is around most of the time or where there’s another sweet little dog for company. I’m happiest when I’m not alone.

When I’m really content, I make the cutest little happy grunts. That’s just me saying, “Life is good and I love you.”

The Important Stuff
• Housebroken - check!
• Leash trained – I walk like a polite little lady
• Great with other dogs (especially small ones!)
• Wonderful with kids
• Sleeps in the bed with you or in my dog bed
• Greets you at the door every single time
• Follows you everywhere because you are my favorite

I can be a tiny bit shy when I first meet someone, but give me a little patience and I turn into a full-time cuddle bug.

My Ideal Home
I would love:
• A fenced yard so I can enjoy sniffing around safely
• A home where someone is around most of the time
• Maybe a calm dog friend
• A cozy couch (non-negotiable)

I love being outside when the weather is nice, but I’m not a wild child — I’m more of a “sunbeam and fresh air” kind of girl.

Health & Glow-Up
I’m currently on a diet and doing great! I need to lose a little weight, and I’m already feeling better and getting more pep in my step. With steady meals and gentle exercise, I’ll be my healthiest, happiest self.

My Story
I was in a shelter before coming into rescue, and after losing my brother Roscoe, I really learned how special a loving home is. Now I’m just looking for a soft place to land and a human (or two) to adore.

If you want a chill, loving, shadow-dog who will cuddle like it’s her full-time job… I’m your girl.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based, volunteer-driven rescue. All SDRO dogs available for adoption are listed on our website. The listing includes information to help you decide if one of our dogs is right for your household. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please complete an online application. If your home suits the dog's needs, we'll call you to discuss your application and ask any follow-up questions. Our experienced adoption coordinator will discuss the dog’s needs with you to help determine if your home is the right fit. Since we do not operate a shelter and all our dogs are in foster care, a meet-and-greet will be your first opportunity to meet the dog face-to-face.
