Poor Katniss has been through so much since mid-November. After her owner sadly passed away, she was taken into protective custody at Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. Shelter staff worked hard to find placement for her with someone from her owner’s circle, but when that wasn’t possible, a kind foster family stepped in and opened their heart and home to her.
Katniss is a petite 12-year-old, weighing just 7 pounds. It’s no surprise that she’s a little shy at first after all she’s experienced, but she is very sweet, and she allows handling with ease.
