Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Aloha 🌺 I’m Maui. Named for the island, blessed with orange-sherbet fur, a stylish white bib, and one white front leg like I stepped in a little cloud.
I had a bit of a rough start. I was found outside by a kind TNR partner, and let’s just say… I am not built for the rugged outdoor lifestyle. No survival instincts, zero stars. Luckily, some amazing humans gave me a whole lot of TLC, helped me heal up, and brought me to the adoption center at C.A.R.E. so I can find my forever home (preferably one with couches, laps, and zero predators).
I’m still adjusting and learning that the world is safe, so I appreciate humans who go slow and don’t loom over me like a surprise volcano 🌋. Once I know you mean no harm? Oh yeah. I’m a total lap cat. Scratches are my love language. Patience is the key to unlocking my soft, melty center—and when you do, I’ll scoot closer, relax, and show you just how sweet I am.
I love gazing out the window (quality bird TV only), soaking up the vibes, and enjoying a calm space where I can continue to come out of my shell at my own pace. If you’re gentle, patient, and looking for a loyal little island boy to warm your lap, I just might be your Maui. 🌞🐾

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
