Their adoption process

We are a small group of volunteers working through applications as quickly as possible. This will sometimes take a few days. Bare with us, we will call you soon!

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Submit your application for adoption on our website (please choose the appropriate dog or cat application)
  2. Interview
    1. A member of our team will connect with you and conduct a phone interview. We will then connect with 2-3 references. Please let them know.
  3. Home Check
    1. We do a home check via video. Please video all areas your pet will have access to, including the yard, if applicable.
  4. Approve Application
    1. Congratulations! You're approved! A member of our team will reach out to let you know!
  5. Meet the Pet
    1. We will connect you with your future pets foster family to conduct a meet & greet!
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. If you decide to proceed with the adoption, we set up a day/time to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
  7. Take the Pet Home
    1. Congratulations! It's time to take your new best friend home! We hope you will share photos and updates as the days, weeks, and years pass

Go meet their pets

We host a number of meet & greet events in and around the London, Ontario area! Check out our Facebook page to see our events and come meet your new best friend!

More about this rescue

Baladi & Sled Dog Rescue of Ontario is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, providing veterinary care, and finding loving homes for dogs from the dog sledding industry. We also extend our reach locally by rescuing stray dogs and cats from Indigenous communities that we partner with.

Our rescue began saving street dogs and cats, AKA Baladis, in Egypt. Since the important on animals ban implemented in 2022, we are no longer allowed to bring animals into Canada from Egypt. Our efforts, however, expand globally, as we continue to help support the placement of Baladi's in Egyptian shelters.
