My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady is a beautiful 2.5 year old female Great Pyreneese, about 75 lbs, who has just arrived to GRRAND Central Station. She came in with Ziggy and Jocko and we believe Lady and Ziggy are Jocko's parents. She loves playing with other dogs and loves people petting her. She will stand up and ever so gently put her front paws on your shoulder to look you in the face. She is just so sweet and adorable!

She is not leash trained, and we will work on that if she's at the kennel for any length of time. We don't know if she's house trained, but she doesn't mess in her kennel run which is a good sign. We don't know how she will do with cats, so may be safest for her to go to a home with no cats.

Lady and Ziggy are pretty attached, so if yiou are in the market for 2 BIG BEAUTIFUL FLOOFS to share your home with, they would like to be together, but we do feel they can be split if necessary.

We are still learning about Lady, but if you would like to foster or adopt her, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org

More about this rescue

Early in 1994, members of the Greater Louisville Golden Retriever Club began to see the need for an organization to rehabilitate and find homes for displaced and abused Golden Retrievers. A number of folks in this club began organizing an ad hoc rescue group. As the number of rescues increased over a period of months, this “wet behind the ears” group came up with a name and in 1996, incorporated the organization now known as Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND). The rest, as they say, is history!
