Meet Lyra
Lyra’s story is one of resilience, hope, and a whole lot of heart. She was found living as a stray on an abandoned property alongside other dogs, left to fend for herself... a situation no young pup should be in. When Lyra was rescued—just in the nick of time before a winter storm—she was heartbreakingly thin, little more than skin and bones, and clearly struggling to survive.
Thanks to rescue and a loving foster home, Lyra has made an incredible transformation. She is now safe, healthy, and thriving in foster care, where her true personality is shining through. She’s sweet, smart, and affectionate, with a gentle, joyful spirit that makes everyone around her fall in love. Her foster mom is completely smitten—and honestly, it’s impossible not to be.
Lyra is ready to take the next big step in her journey and make the trip up to New York in search of her forever family. She’s done surviving; now she’s ready for cozy naps, belly rubs, lots of puppy play time, and a home where she’ll never be forgotten again.
If you’re looking for a loving companion with a beautiful soul and a story of strength, Lyra just might be your perfect match.
