My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Just like her namesake, Reba McEntire, this girl is pure heart, charm and a whole lot of soul. Reba is a sweet, gentle pup with expressive eyes, fabulous ears and a personality that shines the moment you meet her. She's the kind of dog who watches you carefully, ready to follow your lead and be your loyal sidekick. She is a great size at 17 lbs for just about any lifestyle - not too big, not too small - and will do well with someone looking for a devoted companion. We are guessing her as a corgi/rat terrier mix, but we don't know for sure. We do know that she is going to be a great little girl for the right person.

If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.

Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!

All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop

Go meet their pets

Our Shelter is open every day from 10am-4pm, except Sundays. On Sundays, we are open from noon-4pm.

We are open for walk-ins, but we recommend appointments because some of our pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment with another potential adopter. We just don't want you to come to our location and be disappointed if you can't meet a pet you are interested in.

You can select an appointment time using this link: https://koalendar.com/e/meet-and-greet-appointment.
