My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** SPECIAL NEEDS CAT ** JUNIPER is a petite black and white cat with silky black fur, bright white socks, and a white blaze on her nose. Sweet-natured, curious, loving, and playful, Juniper is an adorable young cat who is enjoying a second chance at kittenhood. Juniper is blind, deaf, and has had most of her teeth removed. Despite these challenges, she is a resilient and happy spirit. She is unbelievably gentle, always using soft paws on her people. Quite vocal, Juniper often chirps and trills to communicate. As would be expected with her sensory challenges, Juniper is particular about her bedding, toys, food and how she’s handled. She is reliable with her litterbox. Her loving foster home has had good luck with guiding her as she has learned to navigate her space. She is cautious about new experiences, and easily startled. Once she reacts appropriately with a warning hiss or quick swat, she settles quickly and regains her equilibrium. Affectionate and loving, she actively seeks out pets and is growing more accustomed to being held. She likes to sleep near her person and among familiar smells. Juniper was found abandoned and alone in a ditch. Fortunately, she was rescued and came to CRAN. Because of her vulnerabilities, she will require a special person to give her a safe space and accommodate her lifelong needs. She will always need a soft food diet, reliable routines, patience and protection. In turn, she will offer lifelong affection and companionship. She’s ready for a new chance at life in a loving, permanent home.

Juniper has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is negative for FeLV and FIV. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet Juniper in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at PetSmart. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $70 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, have been de-wormed, treated with flea medication at intake, spayed or neutered, and have been microchipped and tested for felv/fiv tested.

All of our cats are located either in one of our adoption centers or a foster home. If you are in the neighborhood, you are more than welcome to drop by one of our adoption centers to view available animals. Our adoption centers are located in both Eugene PetSmart stores and Wags! Dog Emporium. Feel free to call us at 541-225-4955 (option 1 for cats) and leave us your contact information and which specific companion animal or general animal type you are interested in and we’ll arrange to have you meet your potential new friend.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette, at Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd and the Eugene-Springfield Cat Lounge. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
