My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Doris. This has been a big adjustment in my life. I definitely wasn't prepared to come here at my 14 years of age. With that in mind, the staff here let me take my time to adjust to shelter life, and I think I'm finally ready to settle into a new home. I'm not looking for much - I want a family who has warm laps at the ready, cozy beds in sunny spots, and the same patience that I was given here. I'm not a jump in with all 4 paws kind of girl, I get overwhelmed and nervous in new places. I need time to realize just how good I've got it, and a family to give me gentle pets of encouragement. To be honest, I'm retired and I'm just not looking for a life with kids in it anymore. I just want to cuddle and relax all day with my loving family.

Here's what you need to know about me:

I can be shy in new spaces. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.

I need an adult-only home. Living in a home with kids just isn't for me, I'm more comfortable with adults.
