Hi there… I’m Strawberry!
Some people say orange female cats are a rare gem, and well, I guess that makes me a pretty sweet find. Just like my name, I’m sweet as a strawberry… once you give me a little time to ripen.
I didn’t always feel this soft and lovable. I came to the sanctuary feral and thought humans were pretty gross, to be honest. I stayed far away, kept my distance, and made it very clear I was not interested. But with lots of time, patience, love… and lots and lots of food (seriously, food is the key to my heart), I slowly learned that humans aren’t so bad after all.
My future family will need to understand that I’ll hide at first. New places are scary, and I like to take things at my own pace. Bribes in the form of food and patience work wonders for helping me come out of my shell. Once I do, though, I’m a total sweetheart.
I love gentle pets and enjoy spending time with visitors who take it slow with me. When you hit the right spot, I arch my back and soak up every bit of affection like sunshine on a strawberry patch. I especially love lickable treats and trust me, I know exactly when visitors are handing them out.
I like to sit up high on the cat trees, lounge in soft, fluffy beds, and play with my favorite toys… mouse toys, catnip toys, balls… I’m always ready for fun. I’m great with other cats and would actually prefer a home with a feline friend to keep me company.
Oh! One more sweet detail… I recently had a dental, so my teeth are sparkling clean and ready for all the treats you can offer.
If you’d like to meet me, you can visit me daily from 1–5 PM. With a little patience and a few tasty treats, you might just discover that this shy strawberry is the sweetest one in the bunch.
I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat.
I am fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, FIV&FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing.

Their adoption process
Additional adoption info
Our goal is to be a sanctuary for cats who are not adoptable and to find loving homes for those who are. We welcome you to visit our sanctuary to snuggle with our furballs. You may even end up going home with one...or two!!!
You always need to remember our cats come with baggage. Lots of them were treated badly by people and it has taken time for them to trust us. They may need to come out of their shells once you adopt them. You need to give them time to see you are not going to hurt them. We love our Furballs and want good homes for all of them. Please remember it is all about the cats for us.
We only adopt out our Furballs to people within 2-3 hours of our sanctuary because of the baggage they come with. This does not include some of the cats in foster care (contact their foster parents for more information).
