Leia is a 1.5 year old female Feist mix, with a sweet, lovable personality and an adorable smile that shines brightest when she is with you. Leia is well-behaved and walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for leisurely strolls or adventures. Leia (along with her son, Yoda) recently enjoyed a short-term foster stay with one of our volunteers, and she was the PERFECT little houseguest! We learned so much about this sweet girl, including that she is a champion snuggler. Above all else, Leia truly savors cuddles with her people, as well as cushy beds and nice soft blankets. She is also a friendly, social pup who played well with the resident dog and politely ignored the cat. She showed amazing “inside” manners, with no aggression eating with 2 other dogs, being good during bath time, and sleeping soundly through the night (especially when curled up right beside you). Best of all, she learned quickly and is well on her way to house-training. Leia also has a fun playful side, and loves to run full blast to play with other dogs. Incredibly, she comes quickly when called, even while playing outside. This 35-pound sweetheart absolutely shined in her foster home, proving that she is more than ready for the real thing. All Leia needs now is a forever family to love her as much as she will love them. Come meet her soon, and see just how perfectly Leia fits right into your heart.
The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.

The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.
