Give a big warm welcome to sweet, gentle Lilly, a darling 6-year-old Boxer/Mixed Breed lady who needs a new forever home and family to care for her and love her the rest of her days.
Lilly and her son Onyx (also with Dog Star rescue) came into rescue as an owner surrender due to family challenges. Lilly and Onyx have been together for many years and continue to eat, sleep and play together. Lilly is at the small end of a big dog (61-90 pounds) as she weights around 60 pounds. She is house trained and knows her sit command. She is a gentle and affectionate companion for children and dogs. It is not known whether Lilly is comfortable around cats.
Lilly is working on her leash training and although she is house trained, she will need time to adjust to a new home and routine, so accidents should be expected. If crate training is planned, Lilly deserves a crate that lets her lie down, stand up and turn around. Crates should never be used for punishment, should be warm and cozy dens, and Lilly should be able to go in and out as she desires during training.
Lilly did not ask to be surrendered to search for a new home and family, but she will be forever grateful when she lands on her feet with folks who open their hearts and home to a most deserving, gentle lady.
* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability.
The adoption fee for Lilly is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
