My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Thorton`s! This 8-week-old mystery-mix puppy may not come with a breed label, but he does come with a big personality and an even bigger future ahead of him. Thorton`s and his brothers were heartbreakingly found abandoned in a bin outside a gas station in Cicero, but thanks to some kind humans, this little guy is now safe, loved, and ready to find a forever home.

Like most puppies his age, Thorton`s is all about exploring, cuddling, playing, and promptly falling asleep wherever he lands. He’s in that precious stage where every toy is fascinating, every human is a best friend, and every nap is taken dramatically.

If you’re ready for puppy breath, late-night potty breaks, and watching a tiny survivor grow into an amazing dog, Thorton`s is ready to roll into your life and never look back.

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
