Meet Lucy! This sweet girl was a local surrender in 2022 who found a home, but after four years of loyalty, she has heartbreakingly found herself back at the shelter through no fault of her own. A divorce split up her family and forced a move into town, where she lost the yard and the freedom she cherished. Her family made the difficult choice to return her to TRACS only because they want her to have the life they can no longer provide. Lucy is a dream companion who is already house-trained, social with other dogs, walks beautifully on a leash, and is a seasoned traveler ready for any adventure. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $200. Our adoption fees do vary depending on the animal and all pets go to new owners already spayed and neutered, vaccinated and wormed. All adopters are given a two week adoption trial with an exchange guarantee if the animal does not work out. We require a completed adoption application, which is on line on our website, and a signed care contract. All pets go out with a copy of their signed agreement and a copy of their medical record. Fees for adult cats are $60-75 and kittens are $75. Fees for dogs are $125 to $200 for adult mixed breed up to $300 for purebred, small dog puppies.

We have adoption days for dogs and cats at Petsmart additionally about 6 times a year. We also attend annual adoption events in the Missoula and Kalispell areas of Montana.

TRACS has been in operation for 7 years and we have taken in and adopted out 3000 animals (as of 11/1/2013). We are mostly volunteers and pride ourselves on the fact that we have a new facility (small and humble but very comfortable) and have had for 2 years. We are a small budget organization and we receive no municipal or county support. We totally depend on donations to keep up our good work. We accept all donations of food, bedding, litter, or anything else that folks like to give us. Of course, monetary contributions are very much needed and are fully tax deductible. TRACS is a 501c3 organization
