My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HUMANITARIAN ADOPTION (SENIOR)

Maleficent is a beautiful 11-year-old cat who is currently looking for a new family due to allergies in her current household.

Sweet, lovable, gentle, and naturally curious, Maleficent is a wonderful companion in everyday life. She has previously lived with another cat, which may make her a good fit for a home where she wouldn’t necessarily be the only feline.

Maleficent has well-controlled diabetes. She requires daily insulin injections and regular monitoring to ensure her comfort and overall health. She is therefore looking for a caring individual or family who is ready to commit with kindness and responsibility to her medical care.

In return, Maleficent will offer a calm, comforting presence and lots of affection to those who welcome her into their home. ?
If you have a big heart and the desire to offer a loving retirement to an exceptional cat, Maleficent is waiting for you.

More about this shelter

Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
