If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Gus is an energetic, fun-loving Labradoodle who absolutely loves people and thrives on human attention. He especially enjoys playing fetch, being outside, and spending time with his family. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle.
We adopted Gus about 8 months ago. He gets along well with our German Shepherd, but Gus and our Labrador have had repeated altercations, primarily around food and high-arousal situations such as outdoor play. Because of this, we believe Gus would do best in either a single-dog household or potentially with a larger, non-Lab breed dog (similar to our German Shepherd), in a calm and structured home. Gus is approximately 2 years old and is up to date on his vaccinations. When we adopted him, he tested positive for heartworms and is currently about 8 months into treatment (slow-kill method). He will need a retest in 4 months and is expected to be clear. He walks well on a leash and has done basic training, including sit and wait, he does great with people.
