My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allie Whoop came into foster care through Licking County TNR at just 5 weeks old as an orphan along with her brother, Curious George. Her brother was adopted fairly quickly. She's now 9 months old and she's grown up in a foster home.

Unfortunately, Allie developed ocular FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) back in October. She was treated through Medvet and just recently completed the 84 day treatment to become an FIP survivor. What she needs now is a home of her own. *FIP is not contagious to humans or other animals, it is a mutation of the Feline Coronavirus (not related to Human COVID) that happens to a small number of cats exposed to Feline Coronavirus. As a survivor of FIP, she simply needs to be monitored for relapse. Most cats recover from FIP and go on to live healthy, normal lives; a small number of cats can relapse although the causes are not well understood.

Allie is a floofy diva. She does love being brushed with a slicker brush. What she doesn't love is other animals. She's very, very, very slow to warm up to them and tends to play mostly by herself although she has a foster brother named Shere Khan (also available for adoption) that she'll play with and nap with (not bonded but they would do well together and have a combined $125 adoption fee). She is extremely affectionate--in fact she needs to be the absolute center of your attention. She'll insert herself between any other animal or screen (phone, tablet) that you're looking at so you have to pay total attention to her. We feel like she needs a home with few other animals or even a home where she's the only furbaby so she gets all the loving. She did well with calm kids holding her at adoption events, so she would do fine with kids.

All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. We also have a cat cafe full of friendly, furry faces -- Whiskers Catnip Cottage in Granville!
