My story

Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Unknown, likely yes

Crate trained: Unknown
House Trained: Unknown

Duke Bow is a fun-loving boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Always up for an adventure, Duke loves to play, explore, and enjoy whatever activity the day brings. He has a medium energy level and would love a home where he can be included in his new family’s adventures.

Duke has a laid-back, happy-go-lucky nature. While he enjoys playtime, he’s just as happy settling in for cuddles with his people. He is always excited to meet new people and other dogs; he is very friendly and curious. He has not had any interaction with cats so far, but he does not seem to have a high prey drive so would likely learn to coexist with one. He has not been around any kids, but likely would do better with older or dog-savvy children due to his size and excitement to see new people.

Duke has been living outdoors at a shelter, so he’s still learning the puppy basics and discovering what it truly means to be part of a family. He’s a confident, smart pup, full of potential and eager to learn. He picked up his routine quickly at the shelter and would likely pick-up house training and crate training with some guidance. He will need to learn to walk on a leash too.

Duke is ready to leave shelter life behind and start his next chapter with a loving forever family. Could that be you?

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
