This helps 4 Paws 4 Life Rescue and Boarding with pet care costs.
Meet Nova — a devoted mama who is finally getting her chance to just be a dog. After raising nine puppies, Nova is ready for a loving home where she can be cared for the way she’s cared for others.
When Nova first arrived, she was very thin, scared, and shut down around people. With patience and kindness, she’s begun to truly blossom. She’s now an affectionate, gentle girl who loves to cuddle, wants to please, and is eager to learn. Watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding, and her sweet personality continues to shine more each day.
Nova enjoys playful zoomies, happily wrestles with her stuffed toys (especially if she can destroy them), and plays well with her foster dog brother. She walks beautifully on a harness — no pulling at all — usually strolling right beside her person or calmly following another dog. She enjoys stopping to sniff and does her business early in her walks. She can jump a 6ft fence, so would need to be supervised in the yard or taken out on leash.
She’s doing well with potty training and is learning to alert at the door, though she’s still adjusting to cold weather. Nova is also working on learning basic commands like sit and is very receptive to gentle guidance.
Affectionate, playful, eager to please, and incredibly loving, Nova would thrive in a patient home that will continue helping her build confidence and celebrate how far she’s come. She’s overcome so much and is ready to be someone’s cherished companion.
Nova was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas where she was in danger of euthanasia along with her 9 babies.
She has tested positive for Heartworm. Treatment will be covered by the rescue at one of their partner vets.
Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!
We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.
