My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barry is being fostered in Griffith IN

Introducing Barry! Looking for a plahing partner?  Someone to add some joy and zest in your life that will put a smile on your face each day?????  This cutie patootie is a red bi male Australian Shepherd.  He weighs 45lbs. and is between 2-3 years old.  He came to MASR from a rural shelter in Indiana where he spent 6 months before they reached out to us for assistance!  EEK!  Since coming to rescue, he has been learning so much SO quickly! He is uber smart and eager to please his humans!  This sweetheart LOVES his humans!

Barry is a potty trained and crate trained, while he doesn't LOVE his crate, he also doesn't really need it and is not destructive in his foster home when left at home.  Barry LOVES to play fetch and play with toys.  Barry is looking for a home where he can be the only dog because he doesn't like to share his toys with other dogs. He also needs a home with older children 14+ is our recommendation because of his exhuberance with playing with toys and balls, he might knock a little one over.

Barry is food and toy driven and would love to be someone's sidekick.  Barry rides well in the car and walks well on leash.  He might give a little excitabark while on a walk but is easily corrected with some verbal redirection or toy redirection.  He is working diligently on this in his foster home. Barry is affectionate, snuggly and loves his humans deeply.  This sensitive soul would love to be your true love!

Barry is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, negative for all tick borne diseases, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
