My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mixer is a calm, mellow gentleman who enjoys the simple things in life: a cozy spot near the window, a soft place to nap, and being close to his person. He’s independent and easy-going, happy to quietly keep you company while you go about your day, and he especially loves watching the world outside. Mixer enjoys gentle pets, will sleep on the bed at night, and tolerates being picked up and held, though he’s not one to climb into your lap on his own. He does well with other cats, uses his litter box nicely (he just needs a lower-edged one), and prefers a dry-food-only menu. This sweet, quiet boy would thrive in a peaceful home where he can lounge nearby and be your steady, comforting companion. And did we mention that he is a very handsome tripod? (:

Additional adoption info

Our website, IndyHumane.org, is updated daily with pets who are available for adoption. Third-party sites, such as Adopt-a-Pet and others, are not accurate or reliable sources of information about our shelter pets. Please visit IndyHumane.org for more information and to check the status of a particular pet.
Each adoptable cat and dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Our adoption counselors are happy to share their behavioral and medical background with you during the application process!
We are a non-profit shelter with limited staff. Answers to common questions can be found at IndyHumane.org!

Go meet their pets

You can find up-to-date information on all of our available pets by visiting IndyHumane.org/Cats or IndyHumane.org/Dogs. Adopt-a-Pet is a third party site and not a source of reliable, updated information.

Our website is updated throughout each day, so if you see a pet on there that you are interested in, as long as their photo is on the website it means they are still available. Each profile will have a link for their online application. Please fill out an application for the pet you'd like to meet and a member of our team will contact you within 24-48 hours for more info and to schedule an intro. Thanks!
