My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org

---

- Loves to play with plush toys

- Very talkative!

This cat has shown signs of over-stimulation while in the shelter. Over-handling, playing with hands and excessive petting can cause this cat to over-stimulate, which could result in hissing, scratching and/or biting. We recommend that you pay attention to the cat's body language while interacting and using interactive toys such as wands, ball spinners and automated self-play toys while playing. Signs of over-stimulation are tail waving, coat rippling on back and sides, dilated pupils, ears turned back and quick body movements. We would recommend a home with no small children due to the possibility of rough play. We will provide post-adoption resources, including our free cat behavior hotline (51-262-9503, Ext 311). If you can give this cat mental stimulation, respect their boundaries and patience please consider adopting! This cat would love to become your constant companion and buddy for life!

All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
