My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gloria J. Wonky Puss aka Glojo, Wonky, Wonka Puss, The Wonkster, The Puss of Wonk. She's sweet, sassy, and delightfully weird.

When shes sweet (and yes, she really is)

When Wonky decides its affection time, she goes all in. She loves people and will happily come up to you for attention, face time, and enthusiastic licking. Shes obsessed with learning your scent and will lick your hands, faces, toes.

The Wonkster is not a lap cat, but she is very affectionate. She just prefers to keep all four feet on solid ground. Expect her to straddle you with her paws on the couch or floor while she leans in for love. Its her thing. Shes weird. Embrace it.

She bonds deeply with her people and, once she knows you, becomes much more comfortable with closeness and affection... as long as its respectful and on her terms.

When the sass comes out

The Puss of Wonk gets overstimulated easily, especially when shes busy sniffing, thinking, or playing. If you try to pet her during those moments, she will not hiss, swat, bite, or scratch. Instead, she will yell at you with chirps. Not a normal chirp.
A very specific, weird, chirpy little sound that somehow manages to let you know she needs a timeout from touch. It is quiet, cute, and its hilarious.
Gloria J. Is also not a fan of being picked up. You can pick her up just fine but she will chirp about it.

Important orange-cat disclosures

She is an orange cat, which means she is legally required to be labeled with warnings.
She will:
Eat shoelaces
Eat blind strings
Eat phone charging cords
Hair accessories
Good news: her foster will provide you with a new phone charger cord that she has never eaten, because safety is important and buying new phone chargers is annoying. (Ask her foster)
1000 times out of 10 is how many times she will knock things off your coffee table.

Bonus perks
She does not jump on kitchen counters (shes bad at jumping and has accepted this fate after many clumsy moments she doesn't like to talk about)
Occasionally jumps on a nightstand if its not too ambitious.
No aggression whatsoever- just opinions, chirps, and dramatic exits.

What's up with her eye?

Glad you asked. The Wonkster was found by her foster when she was only able few weeks old. She was very sickly and her eyes were in rough shape. She's had corrective eyelid surgery, so she does have a unique look. She occasionally has eye discharge but that doesn't bother her. She has stuff to do! She is spayed, will be getting boosters soon, and the vet has cleared her for adoption.

Her ideal home
Glojo would thrive with someone who understands sensory overwhelm, respects boundaries, and appreciates clear communication- human or feline. Shes perfect for someone who believes affection should be consensual, earned, and celebrated.

She likes other cats, does well with boring dogs, and would prefer older children or adult only homes.

If youre looking for a cat who is loving, vocal, hilarious, a little chaotic, and unapologetically herself congratulations. Youve found her.

Go meet their pets

Feral Feline Friends is a foster based rescue group. We have several cats who reside at the adoption center at the PetsMart at 214 Morrell Rd, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919. We have adoption events EVERY Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-5 at the Morrell Rd Petsmart.

More about this rescue

We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization, dedicated to the care of feral cats. Members of our group work on a volunteer basis to feed, water, and provide medical care for hundreds of feral cats in Knoxville and surrounding areas. We participate in a trap/neuter/return program in an effort to control the feral cat population. The TNR program is where feral cats are humanely trapped by volunteers, taken to a clinic to be spayed or neutered and vaccinated, then returned to their colony where they are most comfortable. Our organization holds adoption fairs in order to find homes for socialized kittens born into feral colonies and to re-home stray pets that are abandoned in our colonies! We are funded solely from donations and fund raisers with 100% of money raised going directly to controlling and maintaining the feral cat population.
