My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mac!

Mac joined our rescue just in time, pulled from a local shelter with outdoor kennels before the snowstorm rolled in. One look into his soulful face and his foster mom knew she couldn’t leave him behind.

Mac is around 6 years old and has quickly shown what a lovable, happy boy he is. He’s heartworm positive and just beginning treatment, but that hasn’t slowed his spirit one bit — he still enjoys playing with his foster pup siblings and soaking up all the love around him. Mac is a laid-back, gentle guy who truly shines in a home environment. He lives comfortably in a home with a child and loves showing affection in the best way possible-with plenty of sloppy kisses.

As we continue to learn more about Mac’s medical needs, one thing is already clear: he’s safe, warm, loved, and thriving in foster care. Mac is working hard on getting healthy and would love nothing more than a forever home with a family ready to spoil him and cheer him on every step of the way.

If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing boy with a heart full of love (and kisses!), Mac may be your perfect match. 💙

Additional adoption info

A home check may be performed when taking the pet home. This is up to the discretion of the rescue founder and may be performed upon her decision. This step will ensure our animals are going into the best possible homes and will never be treated as less than a best friend and companion ever again. We are dedicated to the best possible fit for each animal that comes into our care.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We are 100% foster and volunteer run. Therefore, the first step in meeting one of our adoptable pets will be to submit an adoption application by following the link posted above to either our website or directly to our adoption application. Once an adoption application has been approved, we can set up a meet and greet with the applicant and the animal the applicant is interested in. Please allow 24-72 business hours to receive an answer back about your application, as all of our volunteers and fosters have additional jobs outside of the rescue and use their spare time to provide care to these animals in our program.

Adoption events can also be found posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages located under the name "Happy Tails Canine Rescue". These events are open to the public and do not require an adoption application in advance to meet any of our pets that will be attending.
