Despite being an all breed, all age rescue we tend to have a soft spot for the seniors. It is especially heartbreaking when they have once known the love and companionship of a human only to have it abruptly ripped away. In many instances these pups start to fail in the shelter system as they are more vulnerable to illness, have less adoption interest leading to longer shelter stays, and find it hard to adjust to shelter life. This is why it is so important to get these seniors off of shelter floors and into cozy homes where they can enjoy their golden years.
While we were saying hello to the new year, Shyviea’s family was saying goodbye to an old friend. After losing her primary caregiver the remaining family felt they could not continue caring for this senior girl. It was certainly a tearful goodbye after 11 years of love and loyalty. Needless to say Shyviea was shocked entering the shelter system, but fate was on her side as her bright smile landed her a spot in rescue.
This girl has been a delight since she has stepped off tge transport van. She is social, outgoing and friendly with other canines. She may not be a match for a young pup, but she does thoroughly enjoy playing with her more mature doggy friends. She should not be in a home with cats. Shyviea settled into her foster home with ease, and seems to have basic house manners. She still has a lot of pep in her step for an older lady. Shyviea loves her walks and running around the yard. She is very much a companion and will easily form a strong bond with her caretakers. We always say everything happens for a reason and although her situation was extremely sad this girl ended up where she belonged, in the snowy northeast! When she was able to experience her first real snow this pup just lit up. Unlike many of us humans Shyviea LOVES the snow. She loves, running, rolling, sniffing, digging, and even eating it. She was made for this weather and hopes her forever home will include lots more snowy winters in her future. If you think Shyviea could be the pup for you email jonesm4318@gmail.com today!

A Little "Kibbles & Bits" About Us
Crate Escape is a small family run rescue. We are a family friendly rescue we do not have an age requirement for kids in an adoptive home. We believe that it is better to educate kids on the proper way to care for the pups so they can use the knowledge in the future. All pups from 8 weeks on up are spayed/neutered. All of our pups are in foster care or in our own home. They are all vetted prior to entering their forever homes.
Our Mission "Possible"
With your help you can make our mission possible! Our rescue specializes in saving pups primarily from North and South Carolina in high kill shelters. Believe it or not there is over an 80% euthanization rate for unwanted dogs/puppies. Shelters can be a taboo for dogs especially young puppies. They carry deadly illnesses that puppies are susceptible to such as parvovirus, distemper, etc.
Our second goal is to PROMOTE, ADVOCATE, AND EDUCATE people about the importance of having a pet spayed/neutered. All of our pups (8 weeks +) are spayed & neutered. This is so important in helping us achieve our goal.
