My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jaxon is a gentle and sweet senior cat with a strikingly beautiful coat that immediately catches the eye.
He was found on January 13, 2026, around 1 p.m., left in a carrier between the entrance doors of the SPCA reception area. No clear signs of ownership were noted, and no attempts to locate previous guardians were reported.

Upon arrival, Jaxon appeared to be in generally good condition, though the scars on his ears suggest he may have spent some time outdoors. He was very frightened, trembling in his carrier and jumping even when gently approached.

Despite his fear, Jaxon already shows a deeply tender nature. He loves being brushed and truly enjoys gentle petting once he feels safe. With patience and kindness, he will no doubt blossom and share all the sweetness he carries within him.

Jaxon has hyperthyroidism and is looking for a compassionate home through our humanitarian adoption program. Come meet him at the Montréal SPCA and offer him the gentle chance he deserves.

More about this shelter

Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
