My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Say hello to Scout!

Scout is a 3‑year‑old, 13‑pound Pomski who came to rescue with his sister after the previous owner could no longer care for them. This fluffy little guy may be small, but Scoot has a huge personality, a joyful spirit, and a whole lot of love to give.

Scout is a happy, energetic boy whose absolute favorite thing in the world is walks—lots and lots of walks! The moment the leash comes out, Scout pops into full “adventure mode,” complete with excited spins, happy bounces, and joyful barks. Scout loves exploring, sniffing, and being on the move. If he hears the word walk, the enthusiasm level instantly skyrockets.

And when it comes to cold weather—well, Scout’s Husky side shines bright. Snow? Frosty mornings? What cold? Scout lives for wintertime and would play outside endlessly if allowed. A fenced yard is a bonus, but not required—just be prepared for a quick game of “catch me” when it’s time to come inside because he isn’t always ready for the fun to stop.

In his foster home, Scout gets along well with other dogs and coexists just fine around cats. He enjoys attention from humans, is social without being pushy, and absolutely loves booty scratches. Scout also rides well in the car and is motivated by treats, which makes training easier. He’s doing well with housetraining and has only had a few accidents—consistency and routine will help him finish polishing those skills. Scout was recently neutered, so a short adjustment period is expected.

Because Scout can be vocal when excited or wanting attention, apartment living could be challenging, especially if neighbors prefer quiet. A home where he is free to express that happy Pomsky voice may be a better fit.

Kids 12+ have been around Scout and he did fine.  He enjoys attention but can be jumpy and exuberant when excited. Scout is affectionate, sweet, and loves being near people. Once Scout settles in, he will curl up, relax, and even tug blankets around so he can feel a cold draft—very on brand for this little snow lover.

Scout is a loving, loyal dog who will thrive with someone who enjoys walking, playing, and spending quality time with their furry companion. If you’re looking for a fun, adventurous buddy who will celebrate every day with you, Scout might just be your perfect match.

Scout is now neutered, up to date with core vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been professionally groomed!  His adoption fee is $475

We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security.

Please go to our website and read about the dog there as well as all pertinent info. for adopting this dog. IF THERE IS INFORMATION NOT INCLUDED IN THE DOGS PROFILE THAT IS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHETHER ,,,GENERALLY SPEAKING,,,,THIS DOG IS A GOOD FIT FOR YOUR FAMILY, THEN PLEASE GO AHEAD AND EMAIL WITH THAT SPECIFIC QUESTION. We will be happy to answer questions not already covered in the thorough amount of info already printed on our website. We are all volunteers with jobs and families and probably more dogs than you, so please understand that we are very busy. We are not able to keep up with the constant general questions and phone call requests that, with a little time and reading on your part, is already included on our website. Replying to all emails makes it very difficult to do our jobs as well as we would like.
All dogs who have adoptions PENDING, will have that info printed right next to their name. Having a pending adoption does not make it a done deal, it means that we are at the home visit/meet and greet phase of the adoption and it could go one way or another so feel free to check back on the status of the dog in question.
We do not have a facility for you to come and visit our dogs. They are in our homes, sleeping in our beds and lounging on our sofa. We value our privacy and do not open our homes to visitors wanting to meet "all the dogs".
Thank you for your interest in our wonderful Pixie Mamas pooches. Without you adopters we could not continue to do what we do. We appreciate your time and effort as well ,to comply with what is needed for us to keep Pixie Mamas Rescue going with as little stress and extra time as necessary.
Our adoption fees start at $200, some highly adoptable dogs are more and others are less - that will be stated in their profiles.
Good luck in finding the right dog for your family.

More about this rescue

Pixie Mamas Rescue (PMR) is a group of volunteer dog lovers whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. We also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes. We aid in the rescue of small breed dogs. We are located in Western New York.
All PMR dogs are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. They are all spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date on shots before being placed in their new homes.
All dogs are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners.
