My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently located at our Owensboro, KY location

Meet Ryan!

Ryan is a husky/collie mix, born October 2025, and he recently got to enjoy a fun snow-day foster break. Now he’s back with us and ready to find a foster-to-adopt home of his own!

Here’s what his foster had to say:

  • Chewer – will need appropriate toys and supervision

  • Eager to learn – a smart boy who wants to please

  • Still working on leash and potty training

  • Great with other dogs and would be considered submissive

  • Social, cuddly, and affectionate

Ryan is a young pup with tons of potential who will thrive with structure, patience, and love. If you’re looking for a sweet, trainable companion to grow with, Ryan might be your guy!

Apply to foster-to-adopt at: itvrescue.org

Give Ryan the chance to turn his temporary stop into a forever home

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
