My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rebecca, the most lovable little black void you'll ever encounter! This young, energetic house-panther is a bundle of joy with a delightfully ornery streak that will keep you on your toes and smiling all day. While she is an absolute pro at playtime—especially when she is zooming around and wrestling with her sister, Martha—she is just as passionate about soaking up all the sweet cuddles and chin scratches you have to offer.

Since her other sister Abigail recently found her forever family, Rebecca is dreaming of her own happily ever after (and she wouldn't mind if her playmate Martha came along for the ride!). If you are looking for an active, affectionate, and perfectly quirky companion to brighten your days, Rebecca is your girl.

More about this rescue

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding homes for pets in rural Oklahoma animal shelters through adoption events and fundraisers. We're focused on the Newcastle animal shelter since that's where we're based, but we also pull from other rural shelters when we can. We are a foster-based program, meaning that all of our dogs live in private foster homes NOT a facility. This gives them better socialization skills, which makes them a more well-adjusted pet. Also, the foster parent is able to learn about the pet’s personality, likes, and dislikes so that he can be better matched to the right forever home. We always need great foster families, so if you're interested in learning more on becoming one please visit our website to apply: www.shelterfriends.org
