My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucky to Love Clover

They say three-leaf clovers are a sign of simple, everyday luck… and our Clover is living proof that sometimes three is pure magic.

This fun-sized tripod may only have three legs, but she doesn’t let that slow her down one bit. Clover zooms, plays, and prances through life with the biggest smile and the brightest spirit. She’s proof that you don’t need four leaves — or four legs — to be extraordinary.

Clover’s favorite things? Belly rubs that last forever, cozy cuddles on the couch, and sticking close to her people. She loves being part of the action and will happily be your little shadow, soaking up attention and giving it right back.

All Clover needs now is her lucky charm — a family to call her own. And honestly? The real luck will belong to whoever gets to love this sweet girl every day.

Adopt Clover and add a little extra luck to your life.

History: Clover was originally adopted from OHAR in 2022, and for a while, she was living her happily-ever-after. When her family welcomed a new baby, Clover welcomed that tiny human with her whole heart.

True to her loyal nature, she became very protective. She adored her little sibling so much that she simply couldn’t understand why other people needed to get so close. In Clover’s mind, she was just doing her job — keeping her precious baby safe from all those “suspicious” hands reaching in.

Unfortunately, that protective instinct became a little too much for the growing family’s needs. And so, through no fault of her own, sweet Clover made her way back to OHAR.

She didn’t lose her loving heart — she just needs the right environment where she can thrive and feel secure. Clover is still the same cuddly, belly-rub-loving, fun-sized tripod who wants nothing more than to be close to her people.

Now she’s waiting for her next lucky chapter… one that understands her loyalty is one of her very best qualities.

Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! • Have the consent and knowledge of all adults living in the household to adopt a pet

• Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide for the training, medical treatment and recommended veterinary care for the pet

• Have the resources to make a nonrefundable donation

• Agree to consider the pet as a member of the family and provide indoor shelter

• Understand that these pets are rescued from the streets and we cannot guarantee the health of the pet. They have all been to a veterinarian for vaccinations and testing, and require spaying and neutering prior to adoption.

• Place personal ID on the animal as soon as possible. We microchip and register all rescued animals.

• Provide an environment for the animal that keeps it safe and secure

• Complete an application, allow a home visit and reference checks

Renters: If you rent or lease your home, we require a copy of the pet deposit receipt from the landlord or apartment complex prior to adoption.

• The adoption fees vary and are shown on each pet's bio on their cage. All adopted pets will come with medical records, vaccination records, be spayed or neutered and micro-chipped.

• We spend over $200 on each pet, which includes medical care, boarding and food. Your donation is not to pay for the medical care on the animal you are adopting; previous donations covered those costs. Your adoption fee allows us to continue our rescue and adoption efforts and is therefore is not refundable.
Adoption saves lives. Please consider a rescue pet before buying from a breeder or pet store. Contact us, or contact another local humane society, animal shelter or SPCA. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.
Under-age children: Oak Hill Animal Rescue, Inc. reserves the right to deny any application when the age of the children in the household is inappropriate to the age or size of the pet being adopted.
Unaltered dogs or cats existing in the household: Oak Hill Animal Rescue, Inc. requires all pets in the adopting household be spayed or neutered, or the application will be denied.

More about this rescue

Jim & Bettye Baker have been rescuing dogs and cats for many years and finally achieved 501(c)3 status. We bought 9 acres and built a building for this purpose and began a partnership with another local rescue that has storefront space donated to them in North Dallas. We pull dogs and cats from local city shelters after their adoption time has expired, get them vetted and chipped and offer them for adoption every weekend. PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE WWW.OHAR.ORG and see all our adoptable dogs and cats.
