Blue came into the shelter as a stray and was absolutely terrified at first. With time, patience, and kindness from staff, she has begun to realize that people can be trusted — and she has made wonderful progress.
Once she’s comfortable, Blue walks well on a leash and is very treat-motivated. She is still gaining confidence and we are continuing to work with her so she can feel safe enough for heartworm testing. Blue is sweet, cautious, and gentle, and truly blossoms with calm reassurance.
She is the kind of dog who will form a deep bond with someone willing to go slow and let her feel safe.
Despite her progress, Blue is euthanasia-listed simply because she ran out of time.
