My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sam !

Sam is a handsome little guy with a soft heart and a shy side. He enjoys attention and affection, but he prefers a calm, gentle approach—quick movements can startle him while he’s still learning that people are safe and kind. Once he feels comfortable, Sam is more than happy to spend time with you and get to know you at his own pace.

Coming from a stray background, the world of being a housecat is still new to Sam, but he’s doing wonderfully adjusting to his new environment. He’s open, curious, and clearly eager to learn what it means to be loved. One of his favorite things? Being held like a little baby and curling up in a big, fluffy cat bed for some well-earned rest.

With a bit of patience and lots of love, Sam will make a truly special companion for someone ready to let him bloom.

FMAR felines are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for age-appropriate shots, and negative for FIV/FeLV.

More about this shelter

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
